Set in the outskirts of Oxford city centre is this 0.5 acre landscape in a charming parish town. The garden with its timber-clad studio and swimming pool is the centre of summer activities on a sunny day.
We established a long border right across the garden which became the focal point of visual interest. It also delineated the lower entertainment area from the playing field on the upper tier.
This was planted with a combination of evergreens, flowering perennials and tall grasses to achieve a fine balance between structure and seasonal interest. We also used heathers and ferns extensively as they reminded the client of fond memories of trips to the New Forest.
