The new layout breaks the garden into different areas, works around existing trees and planting, and introduces stronger structure through the borders so the garden feels more interesting to move through and can continue to adapt as the family’s needs change.

A small garden design in Hither Green, South London, reworked to make better use of a narrow 10-metre garden and side return behind a period flat. Existing concrete paving was reused in a new layout, while evergreen planting, added shade and a garden studio helped create a greener, more usable space with a stronger sense of privacy and depth.
